World Book Day 2019

World Book Day 2019

7 March 2019

Did a small person you know go to school dressed as a character from a book today? This year’s theme for World Book Day is ‘Celebrate Stories. Love Reading’ and it’s a brilliant opportunity to help young children engage with books. At Calibre we’re celebrating in a beary special way and paying a visit to our wonderful friends, those literary bears that have lined our bookshelves and kept us safe from under-bed monsters through countless dark nights.

We’re very lucky to have a few furry friends lined up on our bookshelves to keep an eye on proceedings here at Calibre. We have the hard stare of Paddington, the philosophical gaze of Pooh and the quiet contemplation of Bear from the Costa-nominated A Boy and a Bear in a Boat. Why not take one down for an outing and allow yourself to (re)visit their cosy worlds…
