Synopsis
In 1898, Dorothea Bate, a nineteen-year-old girl, marched up to the Natural History Museum and demanded a job. This was the start of her association with the museum that was to last over fifty years. In the 1900s she explored Crete and Cyprus, becoming an internationally acclaimed palaeontologist.
